Barilla Al Bronzo Relaunch
- CLIENT
Barilla, a symbol of Italian culinary tradition, launched the Al Bronzo line in 2022, a premium selection of pasta known for its distinctive rough texture, achieved through bronze die extrusion. This artisanal process gives the pasta a superior quality, ensuring an exceptional “scarpetta” ability. Al Bronzo represents the evolution of Barilla pasta, focusing on the craftsmanship of production and the excellence of its ingredients, to deliver a product that is truly a gastronomic masterpiece.
- ASSIGNMENT
Barilla undertook a complete restyling of the Al Bronzo line to strengthen its premium identity, emphasizing the connection between artisanal production and the superior quality of the product. The goal was to make the packaging design an expression of craftsmanship and sophistication, highlighting the distinctive element of the bronze extrusion process and the high quality of the pasta.
- SOLUTION & PROCESS
The restyling process focused on using bronze as the central visual element, transforming the metal of the die-cut into a true brand symbol. The logo typography was developed to evoke the extrusion process, with refined details and a bronze metallic finish that enriches the graphics. This contrast between the metallic foil and the rough, sophisticated red background gives the packaging an elegant and distinctive look, while tactilely evoking the unique texture of the pasta. The traditional Barilla blue stays as a more discreet and strategic accent: a small patch at the bottom of the pack that provides visual consistency to the design. On the back of the pack, technical sheets for each pasta format are presented, adorned with “engraved” style illustrations and a harmonious typographic layout, addressing attention to detail and the artisanal quality of the range. The final result is a sub-brand that, with its ten formats (six short pastas and four long pastas), stands out for its elegance and uncompromising quality, becoming an instant icon on the shelves.
